I get my hands stuck into pretty much anything - I'm always eager to learn and improve. A lot of my skills have been self-taught through experimentation, though in my current workplace I am being guided by senior developers.
With my current employment, I'm focused on web-based languages and technologies, which you can see below. In my free time, I've been improving on these skills with the curation of this site, which is acting like a personal portfolio and showcase of what I can do.
My current projects heavily utilise CraftCMS, which I will vouch as an amazing piece of software (you can find out more about it here). I'm also committed to using as much Open Source software as possible, as evidenced in the ever popular LAMP/LEMP stacks I setup.
I am proficient in Windows and currently taking courses in Linux to learn more advanced features.
In my free-time and as a hobby, I program video games. I like to use older, more limiting and basic technologies to push my creative boundaries. I tend to find limits actually make me more creative in terms of finding a solution. For instance, Fear Of The Dark was created in RPG Maker MV, albeit with a heavily modified JavaScript engine underneath to rework the core from being more suited to RPG games (hence the software's namesake) to a Survival Horror engine. Recently I have been experimenting with RenPy to see if I can add greater functionality to the core engine whilst still retaining the visual novel feel.
I am also currently learning Unity to increase the scope of my games, though time and cost is a limiting factor for a one-person team.
